With the "15th Five-Year Plan" listing high-end equipment as an important development direction, the equipment manufacturing industry is once again becoming a hot spot for capital attention. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the export value of my country's machine tool equipment industry grew by an average of about 10.7% per year. From January to September 2025, the machine tool industry completed an operating income of 764.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, ending the downward trend since the first half of 2023 and recovering growth; the export market showed strong growth, with the export value of machine tool products increasing by 9.1% year-on-year . Exported main products have transitioned from ordinary machine tools to mid-range CNC machine tools and high-end five-axis machining centers. Key products such as high-precision and high-speed five-axis machining centers are close to or have reached the international advanced technology level, and the proportion of domestic mid-to-high-end products in the market has increased. Meanwhile, the industry has fostered a number of brand enterprises with independent intellectual property rights and international competitiveness, such as China General Technology Group Machine Tool Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingdiao, Qinchuan Machine Tool, HGLaser, Huazhong CNC, Guangzhou CNC, and Zhuzhou Diamond Tools. In actual supply chain cooperation, domestic CNC system manufacturers, represented by Huazhong CNC, have established in-depth cooperation with downstream machine tool companies to jointly promote the localization of the supply chain and effectively cope with external cost fluctuations.
Five-axis machining centers are not only used in civilian industries, such as wood mold manufacturing, bathroom trimming, automotive interior parts processing, foam mold processing, European-style furniture, and solid wood chairs, but also widely used in aviation, aerospace, military, scientific research, precision instruments, and high-precision medical equipment industries. In recent years, the application fields of five-axis machining centers have further expanded to emerging fields such as humanoid robots, liquid cooling and computing power, as well as the processing of key components in emerging industries such as semiconductors and high-end medical devices. They are used for precision machining of core robot components such as sensors, joint components, skeletons, dexterous hands, and harmonic reducers, as well as key components such as liquid cooling plates, joints, and shells. Five-axis machining centers can process various spatial curved surfaces and irregularly shaped workpieces. This equipment is suitable for the mechanized machining of complex workpieces, helping to improve machining efficiency and simplify processes.
Industry trends show that deep integration of electromechanical and software technologies is becoming the development direction, with machine tools upgrading towards intelligent manufacturing units. When Chinese machine tool companies go global, they focus on providing high-precision machine tools and overall solutions, making service capabilities key to expanding into overseas markets.
